About Tech Tutors for Seniors

Tech Tutors for Seniors is a hands-on service created by a group of high-school students to help seniors adapt to some of the everyday offerings of technology.

Our goal is to is assist seniors in the use of their mobile devices so that they can better communicate with friends and family as well as take advantage of some of the apps so commonly used today.

We want you to enjoy the technology at your fingertips and be able to best share your family experiences. We can help you overcome your frustration with this ever-changing technology and help you gain a level of comfort and expertise. The days of “not understanding” or feeling that technology has “passed you by” will be forgotten.

ORIGIN OF TECH TECH TUTORS FOR SENIORS

Our Story

The idea behind Tech Tutors for Seniors originated from our family visits to our grandparents in Florida.

Each time we visited, my granddad would complain that either a device or a service was no longer working. It could be his television, computer, ipad or phone. Sometimes it would be a simple fix like cleaning “cookies” off a device or the fact that he forgot a password. At other times, the fix would be a bit more complicated but nothing that I could not handle with relative ease. The senior assistance center where he lived did not offer much in terms of technology assistance and many of his friends were often frustrated by their inability to do even the simplest of tasks either at home or on their mobile devices.

As a result of these visits and the disconnect between seniors and technology, I thought that this would be a great way to provide guidance to seniors in need of such assistance.
